Kip Meadows, Chief Executive Officer
Kip Meadows is the founder and acting chairman of Nottingham. As CEO, Kip is our lead visionary and principal consultant, assisting clients with the formation of new funds and strategizing to improve the efficiencies of the foundations, endowments and government investment pools that we serve. Kip attended Haileybury College in the UK before graduating from Duke University with an A.B. in Economics. Since 1990, he has served on the Eastern NC chapter of Duke’s Alumni Admissions Advisory Committee. He served on the Alumni Association’s Board of Directors from 2003-2007.
Prior to founding Nottingham in 1986, Kip co-founded Insured Benefit Design in Raleigh, NC, in 1983, offering employee benefit and insurance sales and administration. In 1984, he joined Robinson Humphrey, an investment advisor screening and consulting firm also in Raleigh. The Nottingham Company was founded in 1986 when Kip became interested in how investment advisors wanted and needed an efficient way to pool their separately managed accounts together. He has been directing the growth and technological advancements of the company ever since.
Kip has been a finalist for the Northeastern Entrepreneurial Roundtable Young Entrepreneur of the Year three times, winning the award in 1988. In the community, he is extremely active, serving on many various boards and commissions in Eastern North Carolina. As the recipient of the Eagle Scout award himself, he is proud to now serve as an Assistant Scoutmaster to Troop 357 in Raleigh. In his free time, his love of sailing keeps him out on the water, where he has won several East Coast and U.S. Season championships, and won a National Championship in the One Design 35 class in 1998. He currently serves on the Melges 32 Class Association Board of Directors.
Brooke Cockrell, Shareholder Services Representative
Brooke Cockrell is a member of Nottingham’s client-focused shareholder team. Her responsibilities include daily shareholder support for an East Coast state treasury, one of Nottingham’s largest clients. Brooke provides thorough and dedicated service in the areas of record keeping, transaction processing, call center functions, money movements and bank reconciliation for our clients. With Nottingham since 2004, she previously held a similar position within Opticare Eye Health Network’s insurance division. Brooke attended Campbell University and Barton College.
Joy Carawan, Managing Director of Shareholder Services
As Managing Director of Shareholder Services, Joy Carawan is accountable for all aspects of Nottingham’s Transfer Agency and Shareholder Recordkeeping department. Challenged by her desire to constantly improve our systems and policies in order to give our clients the product and service they value as well as deserve, Joy was influential in building the proprietary shareholder services systems that Nottingham employs today. Joining Nottingham in 1997, Joy monitors and assists all of our shareholder representatives with their daily duties. She is tasked with continually evaluating and tweaking the shareholder transaction and account record systems in addition to filing the federal and state reports required to meet compliance obligations. Before Nottingham, Joy worked as a system programmer and administrator for Nash General Hospital.
Greyson Davis,Senior Fund Accounting Team Leader
Greyson is one of Nottingham’s Senior Fund Accounting Team Leaders. Primarily responsible for overseeing the 40 Act team, Greyson has been with us since 2001. Inspired by the strong, daily collaboration and creativity of her team, she acts as a lead resource for the fund accounting department. Greyson works with our fund accountants to double check their daily work and ensure that positive, efficient communications are the norm between her department, our custodian partners and our clients. With a B.S. in Business Administration from Meredith College, she enjoys the constant challenges that her work presents.
Jason Edwards, Chief Operating Officer
Having previously directed our Tax/Audit department and Transfer Agency, Jason Edwards is now Nottingham’s Chief Operations Officer. Charged with monitoring and ensuring that service operations run synchronously and that our familial office environment is maintained, he provides strategic direction and support for all of Nottingham’s departments and their daily functions. Jason drives the company’s pursuit of operational excellence by continually managing and implementing new efforts to improve service to our advisors and their clients. Prior to joining Nottingham in 1999, Jason was in corporate accounting with Hardee’s Food Systems, whose headquarters were previously located in Rocky Mount. He earned a B.S. in Accounting at North Carolina Wesleyan College.
Don Fish, Executive Vice President / Client Relations
As Executive Vice President of Client Relations, Don Fish acts as Nottingham’s primary client liaison, managing and monitoring our client relationships to ensure that optimum service is rendered at all times in the most effective and cost efficient manner. He is responsible for keeping internal morale and operations running smoothly, while fielding and resolving client questions or issues, and attending fund board meetings on Nottingham’s behalf. From an operational perspective, Don is also involved in keeping our internal teams informed on new fund launches or transfers that come to Nottingham. Don previously worked in Outdoor Advertising for 12 years before coming to Nottingham in 2002.
Vason Hamrick, Corporate Counsel
Vason Hamrick joined Nottingham as Corporate Counsel in 2004. Responsible for securities law compliance, he focuses on mutual fund compliance with federal securities law. Vason works with Nottingham clients and the other members of our legal team to provide guidance on fund related activities, coordinate fund governance, and prepare fund registration statements in addition to supervising regulatory reporting, and drafting contracts and compliance policies. Vason received a J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2003 following earning a B.S. degree at Chapel Hill in 1999.
Kate Honey, Marketing Director
As Marketing Director, Kate is responsible for the strategy behind and development of Nottingham’s corporate persona. She also leads the company’s business development efforts, working to thoughtfully expand awareness and recognition of the company. Joining Nottingham earlier this year, she was previously an associate director of brand integration for one of North Carolina’s top marketing and advertising firms. Kate serves as Nottingham’s representative for NICSA, NAST and ICI. She received a B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Julie Kingrey, Managing Director / Fund Accounting
Julie Kingrey acts as lead advisor for Nottingham’s fund accounting department, directing the daily activities of her team, guiding research and problem solving efforts and verifying the pricing and work for the entire department. She is also actively involved with the start-up of new funds and training department team members across platforms and fund accounts. She is responsible for the integrity of the posts and values that are determined in this department. Julie is motivated by the constant change and continual opportunities to learn that Nottingham affords. She joined the company in 1999 after graduating with a B.S. in accounting from Pennsylvania State University, The Behrend College.
Carrie Lower, Vice President of Cash Management
Carrie expertly oversees our Cash Management department and Corporate Accounting group. In charge of all of our funds' DDA accounts, Carrie has been with Nottingham since 1997. She is tasked with guiding her team in monitoring the cash movement for the 40Act and hedge funds we administer and paying all fund-related expenses. In addition, Carrie maintains and fosters relationships with our custodian partners. She is quite popular around the office, as she is also in charge of administering Nottingham's payroll and our exceptional employee benefit offering.
Jeff Myers, Vice President of Technology
As Vice President of Technology Jeff Myers is responsible for the security and integrity of Nottingham’s computer systems. Enthused by translating an idea into an actual working system, Jeff has been instrumental in helping to delineate Nottingham’s proprietary systems from the competition, managing the company’s technology resources in regards to software development, customized reporting and client portal requests. Prior to joining Nottingham in 2001, Jeff co-founded and managed a successful software development company that developed web-based software for dozens of companies across the US, including Nottingham. During his entrepreneurial venture, he developed an internet-based fuel site monitoring and credit card processing system for US Fleet garnering a prestigious award from InfoWorld magazine as well as a patent for co-inventor. He is also proud to have served our nation as a Flight Simulator Specialist in the US Air Force, working on specialized mainframe computers and systems associated with mission simulation.
Janice Pittman, Senior Fund Accounting Team Leader
Janice Pittman is the senior fund accounting team leader responsible for the non-registered and insurance funds that are under administration at Nottingham. In order to ensure that the funds under her watch are accurately posted, her daily duties include maintaining constructive communications with her clients, fielding inquiries from team associates, researching business news to incorporate into pricing outcomes and verifying information to be broadcast by the department before it is released. Janice previously worked for Hardee’s Food Systems before joining Nottingham in 2000. She received a degree from North Carolina Wesleyan College.
Jennifer Vick, Shareholder Services Representative
As a member of our Shareholder Services team, Jennifer is responsible for processing shareholder activity, handling all of the electronic, NSCC and broker trading. She spends her days answering shareholder calls and processing trades, broker dealer agreements and filings with FINRA. Jennifer also coordinates the mailings of prospectuses, shareholder supplements and all annuals and semi-annuals. She brings years of financial industry experience with her to Nottingham from BB&T and YMCA, where she worked before joining Nottingham in 1999.
